Where Your PTO Dollars Go
It's easy to think that all of the field trips, community events, and opportunities that our children receive should be provided by district funding, but the reality is that's just not true. We strive to give our kids more - and better - and we’re fortunate to have a community of parents who share and support that commitment year after year. This year, Calabash PTO will fund just over $200,000 of programming including:
Supplies and equipment for our STEAM Lab and classroom-based STEAM projects for all grade levels
A comprehensive TK-5th grade arts education program (which includes fine arts, music, and dance)
Weekly P.E. classes
Field trips and/or mobile assemblies for all grades
Our organic garden and horticultural science curriculum program with EnrichLA
Supplies for our library as well as author visits to Calabash
A classroom allowance for each teacher so they can purchase materials for their students without needing to spend from their own pockets
Classroom improvements and campus beautification projects including playground equipment, new Kinder yard furniture, recess activities and more
Multiple free community and family events
Support for our Culmination, Welcome Events, grade level events, and more
Costumes and decor for the Winter Show and Multicultural Festival in spring
Teacher Appreciation Week and staff appreciation throughout the year
